The most important aspect of research – to venture into unknown, at the edge of the fractal of knowledge. Hard-core science on all levels, including new materials, new methods, out-of-box thinking.
The body of knowledge is large, clearly exceeding the ability of a single mind to efficiently navigate it. Hence the project of feeding all that knowledge, from epidemiological studies (large numbers) to n=1 samples and even anecdotal evidence, into a research-specific neural network (AI, similar to Large Language Model like ChatGPT). There might be some dots to connect, especially when we know that one size doesn’t fit all.
Anecdotal evidence needs verification, but methodology of much of traditional research is also sub-optimal. There is a chance that we will need to repeat some experiments in a proper manner to establish relevant results or draw different conclusions from available evidence, bearing in mind that even in skewed research there might be a grain of truth.
